What others say

“I met Sava when he was a CEO of the Serbian subsidiary of Erste Group and later when he established Good.bee – a forward looking venture to bank the unbanked in Central and Eastern Europe. Ever since I remained impressed by his overwhelming capacity to bridge worlds seemingly so apart from one another – from mastering a dozen of foreign languages, to catalyzing the cultural inheritance of the Balkans with his western academic and professional background and making a sense of the financial world for a truly visionary purpose. The Sava is a builder, an integrator and a somehow a philosopher of business. That makes him perfect for those difficult assignments where you need vision and flawless execution.”

– Ionut Stanimir / Director of Marketing and Communication at BCR

Short Bio

One of the first things that Sava says about himself is that he loves to build up great businesses with great people. Sava’s outstanding career and education have taken him to many countries, thanks to which he has vast international experience and incredible language knowledge. This inspiring mentor speaks English, German, Bulgarian, Spanish, Serbian and Croatian fluently and has very good command of French, Italian and Russian.

Sava’s industry and regional expertise lie primarily in commercial banking in Central and South Eastern Europe, with a proven track record in strategic business development, including mergers and acquisitions; strategic planning and financial management; integration and restructuring of newly acquired or underperforming banks; board-level / CEO roles in Finance, IT & Operations and Strategic Business Development; profound knowledge of the Western Balkans region and outstanding motivational and integration skills.

If you are looking for a mentor with both profound practical experience and incredible people skills such as Sava’s, he is the right guy for you – even more so if you learn better if someone sings to you. Yes, you read it correctly – Sava is an incredible singer and guitar player who loves to take original songs and write his own lyrics, which he then sings to his clients, friends or wide audience at a TedX show.

Sava started his career in commercial banking at Erste Banks, where had great opportunity to support its expansion in Central and Eastern Europe, after which he took on board-level management positions at Erste Bank in Croatia, Serbia as well as at Steiermärkische Sparkasse in Graz, making a material contribution to the development of the Group’s operations in the Western Balkans.

After years in this industry Sava took on a business development assignment with Austria’s leading, family-owned pharmaceutical company – G.L. Pharma GmbH.

Sava was born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria. He moved to the USA (Boston, MA and Columbia, SC) at the age of 18 for BA studies in Business and Finance which he completed with honors. That is where he met his wife Leila with whom he shares three children and loves to spend spare time.
